Dandy's World Trading: What Actually Trades, and What Does Not

Dandy's World Oct 04, 2026 Agent-api assisted

There is no player-to-player trading in Dandy's World. What the game does have is two NPC-side exchange systems - Tapes at Dandy's elevator shop and Ichor at Dandy's Store - and this is how both work.

Let's clear up the premise first, because it is the reason most people land on this page: Dandy's World does not have player-to-player trading. You cannot hand a Toon, a Trinket or a Skin to another player, and there is no trade window, no trade chat and no item transfer of any kind. Nothing on the official game page documents one.

What Dandy's World does have is two separate exchange systems, both of which run through Dandy himself. If you searched for "trading", one of these is almost certainly what you actually wanted.

1. Tapes at Dandy's elevator shop (during a run)

Tapes are the in-run currency - they look like black VHS cassettes. You pick them up off the floor and earn them by doing the things you were doing anyway: completing Machines, surviving a floor, using your Toon's active ability, or encountering a Twisted for the first time on that floor.

After an even-numbered floor, Dandy opens his shop in the elevator and offers three randomly generated items in exchange for Tapes. Two things are worth knowing:

  • Only one of each item can be bought at a time, even though all three are purchasable.
  • Refusing to buy anything is free - but if every player skips the shop three times in a row, you start risking a Twisted Dandy spawn. It is a shop with teeth.

Tapes only buy Dandy's shop items. They will not buy Toons, Trinkets or Skins.

2. Ichor at Dandy's Store (in the lobby)

Ichor is the persistent currency, and it is what actually unlocks characters. You earn it by completing floors, filling Machines, collecting Research Capsules, using your Toon's active ability once per floor, and encountering Twisteds. Progressing deeper into a run pays more per floor than shallow runs do.

In the lobby, Ichor buys Toons, Trinkets and Toon Skins from Dandy's Store. Most Toons and Trinkets also carry a second requirement on top of the Ichor cost - a certain amount of Research, a number of Machines completed, or a number of floors survived - so Ichor alone rarely unlocks the thing you want immediately.

Why this matters for "trading"

Because nothing can be transferred between accounts, every offer you see to "trade" Dandy's World items is a scam. The standard shapes are a Discord DM asking you to go first, a "middleman" service, or a site that asks for your account details to hold an item. None of them can deliver, because the game has no mechanism to deliver with.

If you want something, the only real path is to earn the Ichor and clear the requirement attached to it.

Sources and freshness

Mechanics described here are taken from community-run Dandy's World wikis and checked in October 2026; they are not official patch notes, and BlushCrunch Studio changes shop behaviour and currency costs between updates. Where a detail matters to you, confirm it in game before spending.
